RSO Super Kings vs. Marriott

Saturday was a big day here at Rising Star!!!  The Marriott Team came to Rising Star to have lunch with the kids and play cricket with the boys.  The boys were so excited and they have been practicing for so long to be prepared.

The game starts with RSO Super Kings up to bat.

At one point Ismail was being taken from the field because he was too good!

After the final out RSO Super Kings were at 54 runs.

Julie and Anandan super high-five!

So Anan wanted to arm wrestle me during the break... I lost but just barely.  It drew a crowd so Anan had to go against some others.

He finally lost.

Paal mikavum sathulla unnavu

Saturday was a Ponducherry Day!  Love these days!!!  So we got in the vans and took the two hour drive and our first stop was breakfast at our favorite little bakery called Bon Bakery.  I had a hot croissant and a hot chocolate.  Isn't it beautiful.  And i want you to know that the white part is not foam... it marshmallow whip.  Perfect start to an awesome day!

Berlyn (whose last time to Ponducherry was this time... very upset by this) ordered a chocolate milkshake.  Look how awesome it looks and yup... she's creepin' on her milkshake!  That Berlyn is always creepin' on something.

After breakfast we went walking around the city.  We went shopping in some stores and the girls got some stuff to take home and then started out walk up the back streets to the Grand Bazaar.

Streets of India in the city.

These ladies are buying corn from a guy on the corner.

Tailor Shop

Carl at the hair accessory stand....

Flowers for sale.  The smell is incredible in the flower section.  Also the shop keepers will often give you some loose flowers for your hair when you walk by.

I love that even the bathroom sign has a mustache on it.

She is making a string of flowers.  You purchase a length of these flowers and then cut a piece off and pin it in your hair.  The jasmine ones smell so good!

Down on the beach front is the more "French" part of town.

We also went to this fantastic restaurant.  We usually go to Max's- Don Geovani's  Restaurant but this time we wanted to do something a little different.  So we went French rather than Italiano. Its called Satsanga and its located in the French Quarter attached to a little hotel and it is such a beautiful little restaurant.  They served Italian food and Chinese food and their specialty was French.  I had the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies.  It was so good.  I think I will totally come back here next time!  For sure!!

After the restaurant we went to a Kashmir shop and the girls got some bed spreads that were hand made.  We ran from that store to the vans and started our two hour drive back.  You never know what you are going to see when you are on the road here.

I wish I would have been faster with the camera to get this guy but we were really just going to fast for my little iPod.

I love this shot for so many reasons.
1.  The amount of water jugs on one motorcycle.
2. Billboard with the man smiling.  That was really just good timing because I always want to get a picture of these because I think they are so funny.
3.  Once you get past the water jug and the guys face you see the chair sitting on the top.

I think they could have fit more in the truck.  I'm just saying- it you are going to use the gas at least make the trip worth it and fill it...

So we came up on this truck and I was thinking to myself.  What is back there?  It could be chickens, cotton, people... nope layers of goats.

Goats just along for the ride.
